ABOUT ME

I am Yalda Khalkhali, born on May 20, 1977 in Zanjan Province, and I have been living in Tehran for more than three decades. I am from Iran.

My professional path is the result of years of effort, learning, and pursuing interests that have always been a part of my being. To achieve my goals, I have walked my own path with perseverance and independence, and over the years, I have gained various experiences in the fields of education, writing, design, and artistic activities.

I grew up in a cultural family; a family where education, art, and learning have always had a special place. My parents have worked in the fields of education and academia, and my siblings have each pursued their own specialized paths.

I have spent some of my life abroad, and this experience has broadened my perspective on culture, art, and different ways of life.

Today, alongside my professional career in fashion design, I continue to learn and develop my skills, because I believe that the path of professional growth never stops.

For me, every experience is part of designing the future.

My Academic Journey

My Personal Story

My life story is a journey shaped by experiences, challenges, change, and the strength to rise again. From an early age, life placed responsibilities before me that led me to face its difficulties and the importance of independence sooner than I had imagined

At the age of seventeen, I got married and began my married life before completing my high school education. A few years later, while balancing family responsibilities and raising my two daughters, I decided to continue my education. Despite the many challenges, I persevered and eventually earned my high school diploma

After approximately ten years of marriage, my former husband and I went our separate ways. From that point on, a significant part of my life became devoted to rebuilding, gaining new experiences, and striving for personal and professional independence.

In the years that followed, I explored a variety of professional fields and gained diverse experiences. At times, I had to start from scratch; at others, I faced setbacks and found myself rebuilding my path once again. Yet throughout these years, I never abandoned my passion for art, learning, and creativity.

For me, life has never been a straight or effortless path. Every experience, however challenging, has contributed to a deeper understanding of myself, my abilities, and the world in which I aspire to make a meaningful impact.

Today, with a more mature perspective and a deeper appreciation of the journey I have taken, I am committed to transforming my experiences, knowledge, and creativity into distinctive and independent works. Works that reflect not only my artistic vision and expertise, but also years of perseverance, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the possibility of beginning again.

Writing Career and Published Works

I began my writing career in 1993 and have since authored approximately ten books across various fields. Of these, seven have successfully received publication licenses and been published, while the remaining three are currently in the typing and publication licensing stages.

My areas of writing include success psychology, Persian poetry and literature, ghazals, qasidas, quatrains, modern poetry, children’s poetry, and educational books on clothing design and sewing.

My published works include Talangor, Taghdir, Tada’i, Bi-Ta’ahhodi, Children’s Poetry, Paths to Success, and Easy Fashion Design and Sewing.

Throughout my writing career, I have received several notable honors, including recognition as an Outstanding Author and seventh place in the educational books category for my book Easy Fashion Design and Sewing, in a competition involving participants from several countries.

My enduring passion for writing continues to inspire me to create new works in literature, education, and success psychology. I remain dedicated to this journey, continually developing new ideas and exploring new opportunities for creative expression.

My Brand Story

A Legacy of Three Generations: Where Heritage, Art, and Innovation Meet

Some stories do not begin with an idea; their roots lie in a legacy shaped across generations, with each generation giving it new meaning.

My brand tells the story of three generations and three artistic perspectives. It brings together the craftsmanship of my grandfather, Ruhollah Safdari, a renowned Iranian knife-making artisan, the tailoring expertise of my grandmother, Eshrat Hamrahi, a master tailor, and my own creative vision as a fashion designer, Yalda Kholkhali.

Three generations, three distinct worlds, and three ways of creating—from the precision and skill of traditional craftsmanship, to the art of tailoring and garment making, and ultimately to contemporary design with a fresh perspective on form, structure, and materials.

This collection represents an effort to connect the past with the future by reinterpreting my family’s artistic and cultural heritage through creations that draw inspiration from their roots while speaking the language of today.

In this journey, fashion design is more than a means of creating beauty; it is a medium for expressing history, identity, memory, and creativity. Every design offers an opportunity to reinterpret a part of this legacy and transform it into a new experience within the worlds of art and fashion.

Another dimension of my brand lies in material research and innovation, including the development of a new material derived from food waste. This project explores the potential of alternative materials and seeks to introduce a different approach to design, opening new possibilities at the intersection of art, innovation, and environmental awareness.

This brand represents three generations of artistry and creation—a legacy rooted in the past, shaped in the present, and moving toward the future with an independent vision.

For me, the most meaningful part of this journey is not simply preserving my family’s heritage, but transforming it into a new creative language—one in which authenticity and innovation coexist, and every creation has a story to tell.

Material Innovation

From Waste to Creation: A Fresh Perspective on the Future of Fashion

In my pursuit of research and the development of new ideas, I have explored the design and creation of a novel material derived from food waste. This project began as an effort to investigate the potential of discarded materials and transform them into a new medium for creativity and innovation.

This initiative reflects my passion for discovering alternative approaches to fashion design and creating a connection between art, research, and environmental responsibility. At its core, the project embraces a fresh perspective on materials that are often discarded without considering their potential—materials that, through a creative approach, may become part of the artistic creation process.

The material developed through this project has not yet been publicly introduced or unveiled. Therefore, its technical details, composition, and production process will remain confidential until its official presentation.

My goal is to explore and further develop the applications of this material in fashion design, creating distinctive pieces that bring together experimentation with new materials, artistic vision, and a forward-looking approach to the world of fashion.

For me, this project goes beyond a design experiment. It represents an effort to open new pathways for the creative use of materials and to rethink the relationship between resources, art, and design.

Sometimes, what appears to be the end of a cycle can become the beginning of a new story—a story in which waste becomes an opportunity for creation, and an idea opens a new horizon for the future.
